Beautiful mountain peaks, massive glaciers, splendid monasteries, blue lakes, rivers, forests, verdant meadows, and towering pine trees can be found all over Jammu and Kashmir. Although many people visit Jammu and Kashmir for the exciting outdoor activities—skiing, golfing, trekking, river rafting, paragliding, and camping—the two most popular pilgrimage sites are Amarnath and Vaishno Devi. Some of the most well-known sights in the state include Dal Lake, Kashmir Valley, Khardung La Pass, Gulmarg, and Shalimar Bagh.
