Dudhsagar Waterfall
The Dudhsagar waterfall, which is situated in the middle of the dense forests of the western ghats, is an amazing sight to behold. Sagar means the ocean, and Dudh means milk. When the waterfall is flowing at its full potential, it appears as though an ocean of milk is falling from a height of 1017 feet. A bridge built during British rule crosses a railroad track directly in front of the waterfall. During the heaviest rains, the jeep track route to the waterfall is impassable. The waterfall is about 2 kilometres away from the Dudhsagar Railway Station.

UNESCO has designated this structure as part of its World Heritage List. Its black granite exterior facade is notable for its Baroque architecture mixed with Doric, Corinthian, and composite influences. The interior’s main altar is 30 feet wide and 54 feet tall, with basalt pillars supporting it. Gilded and ornate, its centrepiece is a statue of St. Ignatius Loyola, who founded the Jesuit order. The interior of the church is lavishly decorated with paintings and wood carvings that represent scenes from St. Xavier’s life.

Aguada Fort
Fort Aguada, the state’s largest and best-preserved Portuguese bastion, was constructed to defend and safeguard Old Goa from potential invasions. It was built sometime between 1609 and 1612 to guard against the Marathas and the Dutch forces that wanted to establish their reign. The fort’s enormous cistern, which has the capacity to hold more than 20,00,000 gallons of water, and magnificent citadel are two of its most intriguing features. On the property is a four-storeyed lighthouse that was constructed in 1864 and is thought to be the oldest of its kind in Asia.

Our Lady Of Immaculate Conception Church
Our Lady of Immaculate Conception Church, which is in Panaji, the state capital, is thought to have started out as a chapel in 1541 to accommodate the religious needs of the Portuguese sailors. In 1600, the chapel became a parish and was replaced with a church nine years later. Its symmetric zigzag staircase dates back to the 18th century. It is believed that the Bom Jesus de Braga in Portugal served as an inspiration for the church’s design, which features one central landing and four perfectly symmetrical side landings.
